Know When To Quit

This week I learned a valuable lesson:

Know when to quit.

Just like there is a place for people who are tenacious as bulldogs and don’t quit until they succeed;

Some of us are learning as we go along and have to learn by trial and error.

Sometimes pivoting can make all the difference in the world.

I built a new website.

I am not a graphic designer or website builder.

And I don’t have a lot of time.

I went with Wix because it allows me to choose between linking to my Etsy store directly or link my Printify Print-on-Demand and have my own website store.

I am glad I started with an Etsy shop because I needed to learn the basics of SEO, photos and marketing.

But I didn’t like the Wix website template I originally chose.

I spent HOURS trying to make it look like “me” and it was never right. It has been over a year!

So a last week, I decided to start over and found a template that fits my needs so much better.

I love how it turned out.

You may not have heard about all the drama going on with Etsy raising fees, not providing good support to sellers, etc. but I want to have the option to pull the plug with Etsy and continue with my business on my own site without wasting too much time

I think I hit the sweet spot.

So, my encouraging words to you today is:

If you feel like you have been trying to do something that just isn’t working

It doesn’t feel right

It is just frustrating you

You have spent hours on it and it doesn't seem to be going anywhere.

Back up and see if you can apply what you have learned to a new approach.

It just might make your life easier.

And be proud of yourself for taking the time to learn all that you can about a subject. Just because you won't use all of it, it is still valuable.

After all, learning how NOT to do something is just as important as learning how to do something.

Have a wonderful day!
